Tis in the Air .....

Greetings one and all from a blustery North Wales. Firstly thank you for the birthday wishes, all very much appreciated.

Now then, as for the post title I crave some feedback upon a thought that is becoming an idea in the space between my ears. I'm considering changing tack upon my blogging by separating the wildlife gardening and related subjects to another blog and keeping the rest of my usual inane drivel here on 'Of Brambles and Bears'.

The thinking behind this world changing idea is that the new 'garden' blog will be more able to appeal to like minded folk, experienced or like me befuddled, where my learning curve can be followed and advice may be offered by all in sundrie. This leaves this blog open to be viewed by the usual rabble.

So thoughts and advice upon this are requested if you could so kind, pretty please. That is it folks a simple idea and a request for some feedback, til the next time take care.

John

  2. It's your blog John. I would keep it eclectic and tell us your tales where ever you may be. Belated birthday greetings. I use to go to the car boot sale at Chirk and have walked along the canal towpath that you did talk about the other day. Any more Coarse fishing tales my good man?

  3. Hi John, I'd happily read a separate nature/gardening blog as well as continue to read your musings. Over the years I've enjoyed the photos and the descriptions of your walks with four legged dogs; and your walks beside the black dog have helped me in my own journey too.

  4. I vote for keeping everything here. If you're looking for more to follow, use labels and it will steer them your way. For me it's a lot easier to follow one blog per person. That's my 2 cents worth.

  5. Myself I would keep it all in the same place. But I can sympathise that some people might only want to read about the garden. But I would also like to read about your walks etc all in one. but that is just me. Hope your well.

  6. i'll be quite happy to follow you about in whatever digital spaces you end up -- which is rather unhelpful, i know. i currently have two blogs -- one for my gardening/nature bits {the Wuthering Heights one} and my original space with is my writerly/arty/Thinky place {ink blot kingdoms}.

like you, i felt like my garden/nature adventures were Other....and because i wanted to feel like i could wax ecstatic about seedlings and manure and bird sightings without boring the eyeballs out of the folk who were more interested in, and had originally "signed up" for my other stuff. as it happens, i can't seem to manage to keep either of them up. :) i actually find it difficult to separate the different facets of my life...which is the down-side of being a multi-passionate person.

    anyhoo.

again, not at all helpful, i'm sure. ;)

  7. Have pondered the idea of splitting the blog but have no conclusion because if you split will follow both ha. 'pointless comment alert' - sorry. All I know is I learn a fair whack from blogs on topics I wouldn't normally read x

  8. Do what ya want but personally why separate the two? Just mix em all together since they are all part of who you are. Do two posts a day if you want on each different subject.

    And who ya callin rabble?

  9. My opinion would be to do it all right here. You have a great following and there is some knowledge, too. I've tried this how many times(?), and have always wished I stayed in one place. If you feel like stepping out a bit, how about a gardening forum? Betcha there's some good ones over there.

  13. Hello, just found your blog and joined. Belated birthday wishes. There are a couple of Welsh sites I follow, so it's nice to find another one. I'm in Shropshire.
As lots of people have said, it's your blog, so you must do what suits you best. Personally though, I like a 'general' blog because I think it's more interesting, and you never really know what you are going to read, and if you had a different blog for each aspect or interest in your life, you'd have dozens !
My own is general, but with a theme of 'frugality' and money saving, with some personal bits and pieces about my life, and sometimes problems.
Good luck with whatever you decide.

  15. I vote for keeping it all under one roof- I sometimes struggle to get round everyone's blogs that I like to read so splitting them further would be harder for me BUT it is your blog my dear so you should do whatever feels right :o)
